Steve Smith
GROUP DIRECTOR
Co-founder and Group Director at Networking Health, Steve is an experienced and energetic business professional with an extensive Business and Project Management background. From working with the number 1 retailer in the UK before moving into the Pharmaceutical industry where he started with Knoll (BASF). Since then he has worked at Schering Healthcare, Novartis, Ferring, Coloplast and most recently with Admedus.
An individual with great insight and often described as a maverick, Steve can see and grasp opportunities that others cannot. He is highly innovative and has created ground-breaking concepts from patient pathways to creating entirely new services within the NHS. He has specialist knowledge around areas such as HES data and Health Economics.
Steve has a love of cricket, football and rugby and has previously been involved in supporting Brighton Rugby Club as PR, Media & Marketing Manager and Sussex County Cricket Club in a voluntary capacity, He is a huge Bruce Springsteen and Arctic Moneys fan, as well as a go to for a pub quiz.
Melanie Jane Richardson
BUSINESS DIRECTOR
Co-founder and Business Director, Mel is a highly skilled professional with a background in Sales and Management at a senior level. From working with the number 1 retailer in the UK before moving into the Pharmaceutical Industry working at Innovex, Royce Medical for Zeneca, Nutricia, Fresenius Kabi and then most recently at Veriton Pharma. Her experience covers many years working within Secondary and Primary Care across many therapy areas. She has extensive experience in contract and project management.
Mel is a consummate professional and always strives to achieve a high level of customer/client satisfaction. She will always find a way to overcome any obstacles that can occur which has led to innovative solutions including developing new products.
In normal times and when not working, Mel can be found in the yoga studio or on a beach walk, reading a book, drinking cocktails or dancing. Mel has a love of science and the arts, particularly ballet and likes to attend Glyndebourne opera, visit art galleries and the theatre.
Dr Mike Smith

Mike is an experienced GP who is skilled in Healthcare Consulting, Healthcare Redesign, System Transformation, Disruptive Innovation, Medical Education. Winner of the Clinical Leadership Team of the Year award at the BMJ awards.
He was Director of Clinical Pathways at the Royal Free Hospital, London, Chief Executive of one of the first GP Federations, Haverstock Healthcare. He is the author and lead presenter of ‘the Minor Surgery course’ at the Royal College of GP’s and the Royal Society of Medicine. Mike was the author of the Primary Care Action Plan for COVID 19, published by NHS England, and downloaded over 7,000 times.
