Simon has in excess of 20 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry covering all aspects of sales, sales management, marketing & market access across a wide variety of therapy areas.

I have always believed in a very people-centric approach to work be that with colleagues, direct reports or customers. Relationships are the bedrock upon which we build layers of communication, education and consultation that result in changed behaviours leading to improvements in patient outcomes and system efficiencies or company culture and results.

The NHS continues to change at an ever increasing pace and the days of just promoting a product are long gone. Pharma needs to understand the issues from the clinicians, payors & systems perspective and present their products/services through the holistic solution lens whilst also helping to ensure implementation of change requires the minimum input of resource & effort on the customers part.

I have continually challenged the organisations I have worked for to consider “what would be of greater benefit” which has led to undertaking some pioneering work in becoming a conduit for communication between the 3rd sector, commissioners and providers in the addiction field, cardiologists, diabetologists and renal clinicians in secondary care and between primary & secondary care with regard to iron deficiency.

More can always be done and the likelihood is that colleagues and customers who feel valued & engaged will make change happen in shorter time periods through collaboration. Facilitating this process is where I have much experience and have enjoyed contributing to improved outcomes for patients, clinicians, systems and the organisations I have worked for.
